As global reliance on digital infrastructure surges, the carbon footprint of hyperscale data centres has become a critical environmental concern. This study explores Green Cloud Computing, focusing on the integration of sustainable practices and energy-efficient architectures to mitigate environmental impact. The core of this study was the implementation and evaluation of the Sustainable Energy-Aware (SEA) model. This paper investigates how the cloud computing industry can reduce its massive electricity use and environmental impact. As the world moves more data to the cloud, the energy needed to power and cool thousands of servers has become a major source of pollution. This study focuses on "Green Cloud" methods that aim to keep the internet fast while keeping the planet healthy.
KEYWORDS
This research addressed the critical challenge of balancing computational performance with environmental sustainability in cloud environments. By integrating energy-aware solutions with dynamic resource management, we investigated a pathway toward Green Cloud Computing that significantly reduces the carbon footprint of digital infrastructure. The core of this study was the implementation and evaluation of the Sustainable Energy-Aware (SEA) model. Our findings confirm that: • Energy Efficiency: Through the use of dynamic VM consolidation and an energy-aware shutdown policy, energy consumption was reduced by 46.7% compared to standard non-power-aware architectures. •Performance Stability: The methodology successfully mitigated the risks associated with server consolidation, maintaining an SLA violation rate of less than 0.01%. • Scalability: The results derived from the PlanetLab traces suggest that these algorithms are robust enough to handle the heterogeneous workloads typical of modern, large-scale data centres.
